In addition to all of the Blue/White fun, there was a special event on campus for children to celebrate Earth Day. A lot of the activities were for kiddos a bit older, but the weather was great and Connor still enjoyed running around, playing with other kids, and hanging with his Dad of course.
As a kick-off to all of the Blue/White weekend festivities, there's a carnival, music, fireworks, etc. at the stadium. We went Friday night and enjoyed it all... along with Connor's first trip to the Creamery. Its a bit sad that he'll never know the original Creamery location, but of course that makes me sound nostalgic and old. He rode the train ride all by himself... And watched his very first fireworks show, and loved it!
I had a conference to attend in Atlanta so the boys decided to travel along with me. It was definitely an adventure of planes, trains, automobiles, and hotel rooms with a 2 year old in tow, but overall it was a great trip. Yes, we were, on occasion, "those people" with a screaming child on the plane. But he did his best! At the Georgia aquarium. Have I mentioned that Connor LOVES people in crazy costumes? He couldn't wait to give this guy a high five. This octopus came right over and crawled all over the glass in front of Connor. He called it "so cute" and proceeded to give it kisses. Riding the people mover through the underwater tunnel all by himself. After ice cream in the park... Making shapes, letters, numbers out of a straw - he was so proud of himself. Who needs toys, right? This one was either a triangle or a 4. Painting a masterpiece at the Children's museum Found an exhibit of a new lunar rover - complete with space suits. A great surprise for a kid obsessed with space. Corn on the cob in April!!!
An unusually warm Easter meant the Easter Bunny could hide his eggs outside this year! And, Connor's parents loosened up and actually allowed the Easter Bunny to give him a couple of jelly beans in those eggs. Of course, they were mixed with some healthier options. When you ask Connor what the Easter Bunny brings he says "candy in eggs... and crackers!" We also had an awesome scavenger hunt at Grammy's house for Connor's Easter basket, but I unfortunately don't have pictures of that. He absolutely loved it, though, and made out like a bandit with Easter gifts. That Easter Bunny has really upped his game since I was a kid!
Connor has several stuffed friends, collectively referred to as "my animals", that sleep with him in his crib and lately have been included in many more escapades. The front runner at the moment is "Moose", followed closely by "Horsey", then "Bear", and poor "Peanut" the elephant is low man on the totem pole for now. He brought them all, sans Peanut, into his tent to hang out or do whatever it is little boys and their animal friends do. I guess I would just call it pretty darn cute.
