Swing! (and other fun playground things)

We took Connor to his first playground this past weekend to try out the swing. It was an amazing thing to see his reaction. Brian got him moving a little and then he started leaning forward and backward to keep himself going! We couldn't believe that he just naturally knew what to do. It was threatening rain, so we didn't get to fully explore everything, but I'm sure we will very soon - we all had a great time.

Now THAT'S what I call walking!

We had a big surprise today. The weather was beautiful - sunny and warm - so we went on a long family walk and took Connor to his first park (photos of that to come). When we got home I walked around with him holding my finger, and he completely shocked us by taking off on his own. Brian grabbed the video camera, and you can see where things went from there!

At long last... the walking video!

This will give you an idea of what Connor is up to with walking these days - steps in between objects and people. He still needs some coaxing, so I think it will be a little while before he decides to take a risk and test his skills.

First Haircut

Connor's hair was getting a little wild and long in the back, so I decided it was time for that first trim. He was such a good sport about it! He seemed just a little bit nervous (notice him with his fingers in his mouth), but overall did a wonderful job and was smiling away for everyone in the salon. The biggest problem was that he whipped his head around to see the stylist every time she tried to make a cut. She was fast, though, and managed to get the job done while saving the clippings for me.

Did I hear my name?

My cousin Bunny sent Connor a cool personalized DVD that includes his name in songs. Here he is reacting to hearing his name - then getting distracted when he figured out how to turn a light on and off. Poor Ty is trying very hard to get his favorite playmate to give him some attention.

Brunch with his girlfriends

Several beautiful young ladies made a special visit to see Connor this weekend (and maybe a little bit to see Brian and I too). My dear friends from nursing school - Des, Sara, Amy, Krystle, & Mindy - joined us for brunch at the Nittany Lion Inn for a mini reunion. They are all successful nurses these days. I miss you girls!!!
